A Look Back, A Look Forward
As you may have heard by now, the two leading providers of cloud-based solutions for government – GovDelivery and Granicus – are now one company under a newly branded Granicus. I am thrilled to represent this combined company as CEO going forward, and want to introduce myself and share my vision for the organization as we head full steam ahead into 2017 to best serve you, our valued customers.
But first, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the amazing work that Granicus and GovDelivery have accomplished in their nearly two decades of serving government. In 2000, the technology landscape around the world looked vastly different than it does today. Following the dot-com bubble and the emergence of internet-based software solutions, GovDelivery and Granicus were just starting out as solutions for a market that hadn’t been fully explored. They were companies that were passionate about helping government be smarter, faster, and better equipped to handle the needs and desires of the citizens they serve.
Today, these missions are realized every day as the public sector communicates, creates policy, and improves the lives of individuals and families around the world. The new combined Granicus now has a broader set of resources that will continue to help empower some of the most creative people to innovate within complex organizations, and make policy-making more effective so that everything from road closures to foster programs are better understood and communicated to the public.
It’s due to the leadership of Scott Burns of GovDelivery, Jason Fletcher of Granicus, and the talented teams they’ve built over the years that this important work was made possible. On behalf of the Granicus employees and others whose lives have been improved by Jason and Scott’s efforts and dedication, I’d like to thank them for their tremendous vision and leadership as we continue our work towards real world outcomes.
Together as one company, you can count on us to continue partnering with you to innovate and scale to new levels. In the immediate future, you won’t see big changes in the solutions you are using – whether it’s the GovDelivery Communications Cloud, Legistar, Webcasting, or any of our other products. Over time, our goal is to continue to add value to our platform, seamlessly integrate our products and add new, useful tools to help enhance your technology experience.
We are confident that by combining the missions and workforces of Granicus and GovDelivery, that we will be able to help you fulfill your objectives. Our impact is only as great as the outcomes you are able to achieve, and we will measure ourselves by those high standards every day as you change the world for the better.
