GovDelivery, leading provider of cloud-based public sector communication solutions, announced that its CEO and co-Founder, Scott Burns was selected by the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation to receive a 2014 HERBIE award. Now in its eleventh year, the H.E.R.B.I.E. award recognizes individuals and businesses that exemplify the traits inspired by its namesake, Herb Brooks: Humanitarian, Enterprising, Resilient, Bold, Inspiration and Ethical. Each year, two recipients are selected by the Chamber’s Foundation Board. Burns and the Saint Paul Port Authority were honored at the Fifteenth Annual Charitable Foundation Luncheon last week in Saint Paul.

Kate Kelly, Chair of the Foundation Board, states, “Scott is not afraid to take a risk or support an issue he strongly believes in, nor is he afraid of failure. His support and enthusiasm for the Saint Paul community is contagious and we are fortunate to have his leadership and commitment to the East Metro Community.”

GovDelivery was also recently recognized as fastest growing businesses in America’s inner cities by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City. Locally, the company was presented a Deubener award, which honors businesses that exemplify growth, excellence, risk, diversity and innovation. In addition, GovDelivery’s Vice President of Client Services, Natalie Fedie, was one of 51 women recognized by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal on the publication’s 2014 Women in Business list. This award recognizes businesswomen for their leadership qualities, drive and commitment to serving the broader Twin Cities community.

“I’m extremely proud that GovDelivery and our team has been recognized for its contributions to the Minneapolis/St. Paul business community and was personally humbled to have received the incredible honor of a H.E.R.B.I.E award, which has been received by some of the most influential businesses in our community over the years,” said Burns. “Our work right here with the City of St. Paul built the foundation for our work with more than 1,000 public sector organizations across the country, helping them to reach more citizens and get them to take action through impactful communications.”
