Congratulations to Roswell, Georgia for Winning a 2016 NAGW Pinnacle Award
We would like to congratulate our customer, Roswell, Georgia, for winning a Pinnacle Award at the National Association of Government Web Professionals (NAGW) annual conference in San Antonio, Texas last week.
What are the Pinnacle Awards?
“The Pinnacle Awards celebrate excellence in government web design and innovation,” said NAGW President Leslie Labrecque. “The entrants do extraordinary work with limited budgets and resources. NAGW congratulates all of the winners on their outstanding work that truly serves their communities.”
Pinnacle Awards are judged by a group of web professionals within and outside of the government web industry and are awarded to the best entries based on the following judging criteria: team size, content, organization, design, performance and flexibility, accessibility standards, and interactivity.
What were the keys to Roswell’s win?
Roswell was one of 10 finalists in the Medium Population Group for cities with a population ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 residents.
In their Pinnacle entry submission, Roswell said this about their website:
Roswellgov.com is a great resource for Roswell citizens and visitors alike. It is an excellent blend of comprehensive information as well as basic departmental and city service overviews, allowing users to find exactly the information they need quickly. At the very least, users can find specific points of contact giving a small town feel to our growing city. Additional highlights include our comprehensive facility directory, event calendar and online service request system.
Roswell’s Web Developer Ben Frye believes that one of the keys to the victory was how the website uses navigation menus, friendly icons and a large search bar to provide multiple options for residents to quickly and easily find what they want. In addition, the site design emphasized bold colors and beautiful photos that convey the uniqueness of the city.
Ben also said that “Granicus has been amazing and very accomodating in helping us from the development process all the way to the website launch and beyond.” The Roswell team was unable to accept their Pinnacle award in person, so they created this video acceptance speech which was played at the award banquet:
