The Wehrman Collaborative, LLC (WeCo), an accessibility testing organization, announced today that GovDelivery has been granted a limited right of use of WeCo’s Access Approved® logo for its GovDelivery Communications Cloud, the second WeCo approval this product has garnered. This recognition illustrates that GovDelivery continues to meet WeCo’s usability-based standards of accessibility for all people, regardless of their disability.

As a dedicated provider of leading cloud-based digital communication solution for government, GovDelivery works to make all of its products compliant with U.S. and international accessibility requirements. WeCo’s independent accessibility standards verification of GovDelivery’s Communications Cloud reinforces the company’s commitment to designing accessible solutions and to undergoing extensive testing to ensure solutions meet specific government needs.

“At GovDelivery, we’re committed to exceeding the needs of the government organizations we work with, and we know those organizations feel the same way about the communities they serve. We’re proud that the GovDelivery Communications Cloud is WeCo Access Approved®, helping our clients easily adhere to important government mandates around Section 508 Compliance,” said Scott Burns, CEO and Co-Founder of GovDelivery.

The WeCo Access Approved® logo is granted to organizations and companies whose websites and digital platforms conform to section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) WCAG Guidelines. In addition, WeCo has developed its own standards for accessibility. As part of a human-based testing firm, Certified Test Consultants conduct user-experience tests in accordance with US and international accessibility legislation and guidelines. These consultants live with disabilities and are therefore considered experts by WeCo.

“WeCo’s ongoing partnership with GovDelivery is helping thousands of individuals who live with disabilities, many of whom rely heavily on government communication, access information and services from a wide array of city, state and federal websites,” explained Lynn Wehrman, founder and president of WeCo. “We are so proud of the work they’ve done to make receiving information from these organizations easier with their Communications Cloud.”
