Thanksgiving is this week, which means in addition the abundance of food, family and football heading your way, you’re probably also being bombarded with Black Friday emails and advertisements.
And while it may be tempting to step away from our email and digital devices to enjoy the holiday, there are a few bulletins that caught our eye with important messages on how to stay healthy and safe throughout the upcoming holiday.

The State of Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services sent this bulletin to their audience, which promotes Thanksgiving as a time to discuss important topics during family time like health history.
While Thanksgiving is mostly known for the delicious food, some communities are working to get citizens moving before the feast. The City of Roseville sent this bulletin with a fun photo to remind citizens to register for their upcoming Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving.
The State of Wisconsin’s Department of Military Affairs recently sent this bulletin that has reminders about road, fire and accident safety during the upcoming holiday.
Across the country, Department of Natural Resources are supporting the #OptOutside movement by providing free admission to state parks.
Georgia recently sent this digital message to their audience encouraging outdoor exploration in their parks on Black Friday:
While it’s easy to be consumed with Black Friday sales, deals and specials, it’s great to see so many public sector organizations leveraging Thanksgiving to provide important and meaningful reminders on what Thanksgiving is all about.
