Bob is the Chief Product Officer at Granicus, where he is responsible for security, product, cloud, technology, design, and product strategy. He is a technologist that gets what it takes to go from an idea to a scalable business, and how to accelerate growth in mature organizations. His business and technology perspectives have been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, on CBS Radio, and on National Public Radio.

David Marcus

Chief Data Scientist, Granicus

David leads Granicus’s data science and machine learning team. He came to Granicus from Host Compliance where he was a co-founder and CTO until its acquisition by Granicus in 2019. Prior to Host Compliance, David served in Lead Data Scientist and Engineering Director roles at a few San Francisco startups. He also founded Routefriend.com, in its time the leading application for planning trips on buses and trains. David earned his Bachelor’s in Applied & Computational Mathematics at Caltech and his Master’s in Anthropology at the University of Kent in the UK. David lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughters where they bike, hike and, before COVID, rode transit for fun.

Phil Bertolini

Phil Bertolini — Moderator

Co-Executive Director, Center for Digital Government

Phil Bertolini is the Co-Executive Director of the Center for Digital Government (CDG), a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. Previously, he served as deputy county executive and CIO for Oakland County, Michigan.

During his 31-year tenure, Phil built a world-class IT organization in the second-largest county in Michigan, just north of Detroit. As Oakland County CIO, he oversaw more than 150 employees serving over 1.2 million residents. In 2005, he was also promoted to deputy county executive, holding dual positions until his retirement.

Phil’s efforts earned the county national attention, winning numerous awards for technology innovation and excellence. He was named one of Governing Magazine’s Public Official of the Year and Government Technology Magazine’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers. He was also honored by the President Obama White House as a Champion of Change for 2012.
