Granicus’ commitment to the GDPR

h

Granicus has long been an industry leader when it comes to data protection. We are already signed up to the EU Privacy Shield agreement and hold current ISO 270001 certification plus FedRAMP status in the US. Our data protection credentials are second to none and that is why we have been keen to stay at the forefront when it comes to the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) changes that will come into force on 25 May 2018.

Over the past year, Granicus has been diligently working to ensure all our systems are GDPR-compliant. We’ve updated our privacy policy and have also been working with our customers in the public sector to help them get ready for the new law.

How we’re helping our customers

We have improved the sign-up process for citizens subscribing to our customers’ services, providing even clearer links to privacy policies and opt-in statements. These improvements make it even easier for our customers to deliver GDPR-standard digital communications and services.

Changes we’ve made to our own processes

However you interact with us (for example, you use our content and websites, or subscribe to receive our handy email updates on resources and event invites for the digital public sector), when you submit personal details we’ll always treat your data with the utmost care and will never share it with a third party without your permission. Here are some of the ways we’re continuing to protect your personal data and respect your rights:

  • You can select which web-tracking cookies to enable or disable on our web platforms.
  • If you sign up to receive resources and event invites by email, you can modify your subscription preferences or unsubscribe at any time in our subscription centre.
  • If you’ve used our content and services, you can request a summary of the personal data we have on file for you at any time by emailing gdpr@granicus.com
  • You can request for your data to be removed from our database entirely (unless you’re one of our customers and we therefore need to use your details for the legitimate purpose of fulfilling a business contract with you).
We’ll only send you information according to your preferences.
