That\u2019s why now, more than ever, we must celebrate the successes of\u00a0councils\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>The start of the pandemic saw many of our customers take on exponential digital change in order to provide\u00a0a consistent\u00a0line of\u00a0critical\u00a0communication with citizens, but also to provide emergency services such as food parcels for the vulnerable\u00a0who are\u00a0self-isolating, as well as\u00a0booking systems for public areas to ensure that social distancing rules can be adhered to.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why we were delighted to see the work of several Granicus customers recognised at this year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/awards.themj.co.uk\/\">MJ Local Government Achievement<\/a> awards, which were founded to\u00a0celebrate the best in local public services.<\/p>\n<p>It was especially encouraging to see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aberdeencity.gov.uk\/\">Aberdeen\u00a0City Council<\/a> take home the top award for Local Authority of the Year. Its entry highlighted many of the ways its Digital First Programme has enriched the lives of residents in the area. Granicus\u2019 govService and govDelivery platforms are among the key platforms that help to underpin Aberdeen\u2019s Digital First programme by providing communications, self-service, and end-to-end processing amongst other capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2019,\u00a0Aberdeen City Council became the first local authority in Scotland to launch both school admissions and placing requests\u00a0as a fully online process\u00a0for all school types.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0govService\u00a0platform enables customers to self-serve in areas including\u00a0enrollments\u00a0for P1\u00a0pupils;\u00a0request\u00a0placement\u00a0for all mainstream schools\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0additional\u00a0support needs (ASN) schools; application management; waiting list updates; and correspondence with the Council. More than 450 applications were made on the first day of launching and more than 2,500 applications within the first month. That\u2019s why now, more than ever, we must celebrate the successes of\u00a0councils\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>The start of the pandemic saw many of our customers take on exponential digital change in order to provide\u00a0a consistent\u00a0line of\u00a0critical\u00a0communication with citizens, but also to provide emergency services such as food parcels for the vulnerable\u00a0who are\u00a0self-isolating, as well as\u00a0booking systems for public areas to ensure that social distancing rules can be adhered to.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why we were delighted to see the work of several Granicus customers recognised at this year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/awards.themj.co.uk\/\">MJ Local Government Achievement<\/a> awards, which were founded to\u00a0celebrate the best in local public services.<\/p>\n<p>It was especially encouraging to see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aberdeencity.gov.uk\/\">Aberdeen\u00a0City Council<\/a> take home the top award for Local Authority of the Year. Its entry highlighted many of the ways its Digital First Programme has enriched the lives of residents in the area. Granicus\u2019 govService and govDelivery platforms are among the key platforms that help to underpin Aberdeen\u2019s Digital First programme by providing communications, self-service, and end-to-end processing amongst other capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2019,\u00a0Aberdeen City Council became the first local authority in Scotland to launch both school admissions and placing requests\u00a0as a fully online process\u00a0for all school types.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0govService\u00a0platform enables customers to self-serve in areas including\u00a0enrollments\u00a0for P1\u00a0pupils;\u00a0request\u00a0placement\u00a0for all mainstream schools\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0additional\u00a0support needs (ASN) schools; application management; waiting list updates; and correspondence with the Council. More than 450 applications were made on the first day of launching and more than 2,500 applications within the first month.
