The result is an enhanced website that delivers agendas, minutes, audio/video webcasts of public meetings, emergency broadcasts, original programming, internal training, public service announcements, and much more.
Flexible design options.
There are two primary templates that are the core of every solution. A Granicus Designer will work with you to customize them with content rich features.
View Page
A webpage that is embedded into your existing website. Once setup, you can utilize Granicus MediaManager to manage which 24-hour channels, live meetings, and on-demand content are made available to your staff and citizens. You can have one or more View Pages integrated with your website depending on the overall design. View Pages can include the following functionality:
- A link to your 24/7 live feed (such as your government access channel)
- A listing of upcoming events, in-progress events, and meeting agendas
- Keyword search, including closed captions (where available)
- Navigation to all archived content, including agendas and linked minutes (Granicus® MinutesMaker™ only)
- Syndication and subscription feeds for the publishing of agendas, minutes, videos, and podcasts that can easily be registered with Apple iTunes or other RSS readers.
Media Player
When a site visitor wants to access a webcast, a new browser window opens and displays a Player with associated documents and features. You may choose to have multiple players depending on your website design.
Industry leading website navigation options.
Granicus offers four navigation options for streaming content.

Original
Programming
1 - The Player option will display either a live feed or on-demand audio/video. A Live Player is designed to show a live broadcast.
A Full Player starts with the audio/video and the closed caption area, then adds an informational area where you can display your programming timetable or supporting presentation slides. The player is branded to resemble the design of your website.
Demo: Weslaco ISD
Weslaco displays a prominent link to a Full Player on their home page. Using Silverlight to stream the KWES Tv 17 channel they Full Player also displays the programming schedule.
2 - The Full Integration option combines View Pages and players to create one view for your Main Board meetings, another for your Planning Board meetings, and another for your Community Development Board meetings. Or, you may choose to combine them all into a Sectioned View Page that organizes different meetings on one page.
The player that is designed for your Full Integration option has video and/or audio, jump-to navigation, closed captioning, and a document-viewing area. This unique combination of information is what Granicus calls your Integrated Public Record.
Demo: City of Rosemead
The City of Rosemead’s Full Integration seamlessly combines a Granicus View page into their site using an iFrame. This View Page also takes advantage of an additional feature to divide content into sections that can be expanded to browse the available archives.
3 - The Multilevel Integration option combines the Full Integration option with a media home page. This home page enables users to easily get to all your View Pages.
Advantage: Your most recent published meetings are readily available to viewers. We recommend this for agencies who anticipate many meetings and different meeting bodies that will be using Granicus solutions.
Demo: City of San Jose
Taking advantage of a host of additional features, the City of San Jose's solution uses multiple View Pages and Templates to guide their site visitors to high demand content as easily as possible. The Archives are broken into a section of recently archived content for each meeting body. To access older archives simply click the ‘View All” button to browse the complete archive for that meeting body.
4 - The Original Programming option lets your users browse a one-page list of the player content available. There are no pop-up players included with this option.
The Original Programming option doesn’t display documents such as agendas or minutes alongside videos. Therefore, we recommend this to anyone who will be producing and showing non-meeting content.
Demo: City of Alexandria
City of Alexandria's video player page uses Granicus’ Original Programming Integration combined with customized sections and expandable tables.
