What is Granicus Training Edition for Government?

Granicus designed the Training Edition of our MediaManager™ content delivery platform to help public agencies move traditional, manual training programs to an online, convenient format. How the Training Edition Works.
The Training Edition of MediaManager is easy to set up and administer. The Training Edition users can be divided into three types: Administrators, Instructors, and Trainees.
- Administrators can set up specific trainings or folders, upload users/groups, and manage appropriate permission levels for the training content such as Read Only, Read and Schedule Only, or Read and Write.
- Instructors can create new training classes, upload training materials, index training videos, and schedule course assignments and due dates for users and groups.
- Trainees are automatically notified of their mandatory trainings by email. They can take assigned classes by accessing the Trainee Portal where they can access their current assignments, a full transcript of completed courses, and a content library of courses they can take.

Manage government training easily with user-friendly features.
- Create users and leverage single-sign-on. You can load users into the system quickly and assign permissions levels to ensure maximum security for your content. Our system integrates with Active Directory, which is similar to how Microsoft Outlook populates users and groups. With this capability, you can quickly import users and groups from your Active Directory into our system, schedule automatic syncing, and employ single-sign-on for your entire enterprise.
- Import or upload video. Simply browse your computer to upload the audio/video training files or import an existing video from your training platform. With access to the full MediaManager platform you can easily pull video content from anywhere in the system. This means departments can share content and increase the potential of their trainings enterprise-wide. The system also contains a training editor for fast creation and editing of your video, exams, attachments, or course scheduling details.
- Create rich presentations: index videos and link course materials. Use the training editor to create timestamps and
index points in your video content. These serve as chapters to enable users to navigate to specific sections of the lesson on-demand. Course materials or attachments can also be quickly uploaded and coordinated to appear at a specific time during the training, creating a user-friendly training experience. Supported attachment formats include, but are not limited to: .JPEG, .GIF, .PNG, .BMP, .RTF, .PDF, Word (.DOC and .DOCX) and PowerPoint (.PPT and .PPTX).
- Develop exams and monitor real-time results. Leverage simple exam functionality to measure performance by class or user. The exam creator allows the user to define what the passing criteria will be. Question formats include true/false, multiple choice, and sequence questions. Instructors can quickly view how the entire training class performed and then export results as a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file. This export function enables you to quickly share results across the organization.
- Schedule training and automatically alert students. Scheduling functionality allows you to assign groups or individuals in your organization to your trainings. Each schedule contains a course start date and due date. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assign an instructor for the course to answer questions and to monitor training performance. An automated email alerts your class of new assignments and gives them quick access to their personal Trainee Portal.
